Bolzano is the biggest city in South Tyrol with a population of 105,000 people. The provincial capital is a popular destination all year round, where the Italian and the German culture merge. Points of interest are the Piazza delle Erbe, the arcades, the Walther Square with the Roman/Gothic cathedral and not least the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology, where “Ötzi”, the 5,000-year old Iceman is exhibited.
